My path to medical school has been atypical. A personal tragedy led me to become a paramedic, an instructor at UT Health, and the creator of an EMT program at Brennan High School. All of these experiences have taught me that I am most fulfilled when serving others in their most vulnerable moments and that I am eager to be part of a team that approaches patient care comprehensively and compassionately.

My Medical School Journey

“Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another.”
